Add some Chinoiserie to your shelves with these white ceramic Foo Dogs. Foo Dogs originated from China as guardian stone lions meant to protect. Since these lions resemble the Chow Chow and Shih Tzu dog breeds, the English nicknamed them "Foo Dogs." Foo Dogs are always meant to be displayed in pairs, as one is female (yin, symbolically protecting the people in the home) and one is male (yang, symbolically protecting the structure of the home itself).
